I’m currently writing a novel, “Me Dear Love,” based on the true story of a man who sails the historic Sherman Zwicker schooner to Newfoundland where he finds his biological mother, a woman who was forced by the Catholic church to give him up because she was unwed. He was six months old when a nun took him away, telling the young mother to “pretend he died” to make it easier on her.
